Permanent global positioning system (GPNS) stations located in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, a data transmission network and a data processing centre where errors in GPNS satellite signals are calculated and eliminated in real time. The LitPOS network operates using virtual reference station technology. This technology is based on GPNS reference stations being installed at points on the Earth's surface whose coordinates are precisely known in the required coordinate system. Measurement data from GPNS reference stations is summarized and systematized, and GPNS corrections are transmitted to users via telemetry communication channels. The GPNS user's position is determined accurately and reliably by receiving already processed and modelled signals from reference stations.
