| Description | The dataset provides the weights of the house price index (HPI). A weight is the relative share, expressed in percent or per mille, of household monetary expenditure allocated to the acquisition of dwellings with land belonging to a given elementary HPI aggregate. The higher the weight, the greater the influence of the price change at a given classification level of dwellings with land on the price change at a higher level. The weight base period is the period whose data are used for calculating index weights. Data validation and editing include: excluding transactions of dwellings not suitable for living due to a low completion rate (< 80 percent); analysing transaction data for dwellings assigned to each elementary aggregate compared with previous quarters. Data editing and validation are carried out using an electronic data validation system for price statistics. Observed price trends are compared with house price trends recorded by real estate agencies. Information on factors influencing house price changes is regularly monitored in the press and in reports published by other enterprises and institutions. The main source for the HPI is the Real Property Register and Transactions databases of the State Enterprise Centre of Registers; data are received quarterly. The base year for the HPI is 2015 (2015 = 100). The next rebasing is planned for 2026; the previous time series will be converted to the new base and published after calculating the HPI for Q1 2026.
