| Description | The dataset is prepared on the basis of the Register of Education and Research Institutions. It provides data on education and research institutions currently operating (schools, universities, kindergartens, vocational training, non‑formal education providers, etc.) as well as institutions that are not currently operating but operated after 12 October 2001. The dataset contains institution names, Register of Legal Entities (JAR) codes or, if an institution has no JAR code, codes assigned by the Register of Education and Research Institutions (ŠMIR) to its units, institution registration date, geospatial coordinates, address and other data. Data are provided both for independent institutions and for units of other institutions. For questions related to the data, please contact atverimas@stat.gov.lt.
